It's the Tiny Things - My Garden of Delights
And a calendar giveaway! ✨🌙
It’s been raining for a week here in Los Angeles – a rare treat. I love the sound of the rain and the chilly weather it brings in. A few nights ago, we came home and found this tiny scene waiting on the porch.
The curious little antennae. The slow pace of a well-lived life. I learned recently that snails leave glitter trails to find their way home. ✨
For years, I’ve dreamed of a big porch – the kind old Craftsman homes have, with a swing and rocking chairs and the perfect perch to watch the world drift by as you sip your coffee.
But I live in one of the most expensive cities in the world. I’ve rented my entire adult life. I used to tell myself: one day, when I finally own a home, then I’ll take down the ugly blinds. Then I’ll paint the cabinets bold colors and cover the walls in 100 different framed artworks.
It took me far too long to wonder – why? Why do I have to wait to “own” a home before I let loose and really decorate it? Why do I postpone creating the home I imagine until I have the “dream” space?
Have you ever noticed how much people wait?
Wait to meet the right person.
Wait for the perfect body.
Wait for the money.
Wait to feel enough.
Maybe we are enough? Maybe we always were. We just didn’t know it yet.
Because once we have all those things, we just add more to the list.
I have been creating the home I always dreamed of for the past few years. It is made of tiny things.
Here are some of them on my porch that delight me.
Until Next Time 🌙 ✨

P.S. Please put your tiny thing from the past week in the comments. I love reading them. And this week is the big giveaway…
I’ve always loved calendars. There is an excitement when a new month comes and you get to turn the page. We get to begin again. Each year, I put together a Looking for the Magic calendar filled with my favorite pieces from the past twelve months. This year, I also created a lunar moon calendar so I never miss a full moon again.
✨ GIVEAWAY!*✨
One lucky winner (chosen at random) will get to pick any calendar from my shop.
To enter, just comment below and share one Tiny Thing that brought you joy this past week.
Go! 🌙 💛

There was a brightly colored bluebird on the reddest tree in my backyard yesterday and it was such a delight.
Thank you for sharing and inspiring us to claim our spaces and make them our own. I also rent and sometimes feel it’s not “worth it” to undertake a big project to improve my space. You reminded me that it is so worth it!
My tiny moment was picking up a crochet hook and some yarn. It can be scary to learn something new as an adult, but I set aside my judgment of how “skilled” I should be, and just let myself stumble and make mistakes. My first project (a coaster) is almost done!
