The first apartment I rented in Hollywood, CA became infested with cockroaches overnight. I barely had anything in that apartment. They quickly took care of it. But those few days were like a horror movie. The way they move is so unnerving.

I revived a Queen wasp that woke up after Winter in my house the other day with some sugar water. It was so amazing to watch her fly away. I have pet snails and also love to watch them eat

Curious - how did you spot that it is the queen?

I have an empty terrarium, and I'm always tempted to grab a few snails and put them in. But if I killed one of them, it would make me so sad. I'm not sure how to do it right. But I LOVE that idea.

I've had all mine from when they were little or they were born in the terrarium. I don't think It would be fair to take adults permanently from the "Wild" into captivity. I can't be 100% sure but it's a fair assumption. Only the Queen wasps hibernate over Winter and then come out in Spring to build a new nest. All the males die off at the end of the summer. She seemed dehydrated and was trying to drink water from my Cat's bowl and the Window wasn't open so I don't think it was one that had just flown in.

I went for a hike Sunday afternoon and it was a very windy day. I go to a state park that is a couple miles from my house and there is a lake. My tiny things were listening to the roar of the wind through the still bare trees and seeing white caps on the lake. With the wind it was pretty chilly, but the sun was out and I was so invigorated by the cool crisp air.

I love this so much! The snails are amazing- I have a little pet garden snail in a terrarium and I am never not amazed when I watch her eat the fruits and veggies! Where do you live to have that many outdoor garden snails?

This is a neighborhood in Los Angeles. I know, so not expected. 😊 How long have you had your snail?

I have had “Fern” for almost 3 years!

This post made me smile and I love how when we start looking at a topic, we somehow stumble across others doing the same. This week I am looking at unpacking joy in the small things. And here’s your post doing exactly that!!

So here’s my little joy moment this week, listening to kookaburras fight for spot on a gum tree branch and then becoming little statues , when they realised I was there taking a the photo. Not a great photo but I witnessed it. And sometimes I think the witnessing is part of the joy.

Here’s to more pink cloud and snail life days☁️🐌🩷

Thank you for sharing your magical adventure. I hope to find a snail tree (or something similarly thrilling) someday. The wonders are all around us.

The snails are amazing! My tiny thing was a beautiful view of poppies cascading down the mountainside in the Grapevine yesterday.
