This is lovely. Your writing reminds me of Laura Pashby who has a wonderful book called Little Stories of Your Life. I adore this book and am reading my way through a 2nd time to work on the writing prompts.
I love your plates and that tiny pancake. We have a collection of different colors of Fiestaware that we accumulated over the years. Really fun to mix and match colors and choose which color you want to use each day, but sometimes I wish I had a few patterned ones, too (not that we need more dishes!).
I've been looking back and thinking about stories of past gardens wishing I'd kept better notes and taken more photos. One photo I found had a gargoyle hidden in the flowers. I'd completely forgotten I'd had a gargoyle in my garden until I saw that photo.
I LOVE fiestaware. It brings back memories of being in college. My good friend used to collect it. So we would go to all the antique and thrift stores back east on our summer vacations. The colors are so fun. I like to mix and match both plain and patterns. You never tire of the plain ones.
I find that when I go through old boxes, items bring up memories of things I forgot ever happened. This is why we have a hard time getting rid of old stuff. They are full of forgotten stories. But now, I find I can photograph them and lighten the load!
Look at that tiny pancake! I love both of your plates. We have a set we call “lady plates” which are these old-timey French drawings of different women on each plate and we each have a favorite. ❤️

I really appreciate the kind words. I will have to check out her work. She sounds familiar. Maybe I have read some of her work in the past.
Just delightful, awwww
Thank you Kim
I use my late Father’s Garden Botanica plates, think of him often and makes me smile.
How wonderful that you have them.
What fun namecards at the wedding!

I love that. I’m pretty sure plates, cups, and bowls are my favorite finds.
So heart warming Kim. Thank you for letting us in and giving us a glimps of your world. Its inspiring✨🌸
Thanks for reading. 😊
Love your story! I have a mismatch of blue and white plates, all from flea markets. No favourite, though.
