I came across three beautiful deer (does), just casually strolling through a neighborhood. We have several marshy/forested areas throughout town and that is where they usually are. They were the exact color of the winter grass and so fluffy in their winter coats.
The first snow drops are just starting to bloom, about 1-1/2" tall!! And all sorts of early bloomers are poking up, too. They create excitement that is totally out of proportion considering their diminutive size! (zone 6b).
A tiny thing that made me smile and chuckle was ladies wearing corn cob hats at a Costco food aisle stand!
A tiny surprise gift from winning a prize drawing -- a Budha Board -- a quick painting with water, then you watch it disappear soon after. Being present for ephemeral art!
I had branches full of little songbirds come visit a tree in my yard. They were in a field across the road, but I started repeating a call one was making and the whole group came over. I'm pretty sure they were just listening to whatever the bird I was mimicking said, but the timing was fun either way!
I used to have a dove growing up and we would coo a number of times and he would copy it. I think it is totally possible. 😊 But true, either way - delightful.
I think it is too, sorry to imply otherwise. I can bring chipmunk and squirrels to me with chirping sounds, kids love it - and my uncle has the best 'galluck' chats with ravens ha! I meant to tell you I've witnessed/heard a crow funeral too. The loudest 'cawcawphony' of sound and sorrow. It was heartbreaking. I love the idea of everyone having a crow within and the hope/potential we carry to return to that instinct of care.
My list of little things:
My dog in a birthday hat (yesterday was her birthday).
A robin sitting in our birch tree singing their heart out
A tin of watercolor postcards ( the tin’s color is robin egg blue)
A tiny hippo figurine my husband gave me
Daffodil shoots pushing through the soil
It’s been a good week for little things!
This is the way to do it - fabulous list. Robin egg blue is my favorite. 🪺

Lucky duck. I see dear maybe once a year by me. I live the wire spots on does. 😌

Always exciting to see the first blooms after winter! 🥰
Wow! I love goats and seeing them like this would have been such a delight! Love seeing all the green and sunshine, too.
It is back in the 80s here. Like so hot I want to turn on the air conditioning. I busted out a fan. I'm into the blooms, but not this summer heat.
That's not fun. I'm tired of winter but I don't think I'd like it getting hot like that, either.
Goats are such cuties! Haha
My little thing:
Parrots sitting on a cable in line and chirping.
We get flocks of parrots come through our neighborhood - they are so loud. But I love it because I can run out and watch them.
My recent little things:
A girls trip to Taos, NM:
the magic of the landscape in northern NM, tarot cards, charcuterie boards
Soaking my bones in the healing waters at Ojo Caliente
What I like to think of as corvid country - crows, ravens, stellar’s jays and magpies abound
Then finally being able to pick my daughter up and hold her after 5 days because of travel and then being too sick.
The delight of the unexpected!
So true. 😌
