I do. I feel like we wait around a lot in life for "big" things to happen. When we have these little things every day, if only we take the time to let them in. The moon t is going to be a beauty! I looked last night and it was amazing.
I had a magical moment this morning at the state park near my home in Wisconsin. This is the time of year all the migratory song birds start to return. I went out for one of my spring birding walks and I was treated to nothing less then an outdoor symphony. I dont think I walked more than a mile and a half but it took me so long because I kept stopping to listen, to look. To try and match a song with seeing the bird through my binoculars. These tiny beacons of song and beauty surrounded me. At one point I was literally turning in circles, not sure where to look first. I wanted so much to join them in the tree tops, even if only for a moment. I also spotted a tiny patch of wood anemones, a fleeting, impossibly delicate white ephemeral flower.
It is really an incredible feeling when you are immersed in bird song. This happened to me as well when I took a walk at sunset the other day. I took a back trail at the park, and there were all kinds of birds surrounding me in the trees. I need some binoculars! I keep hearing an owl in the tree right in front of my home. But it is a towering tree, and I just can't see well. Binoculars!
The other day I did a radio interview and I said exactly that about snails - that if more people took the time to watch a snail eat they would find them more endearing and interesting. They’re amazing! Love all of this!
It is so true. They are fascinating. You would let them eat your flowers. : ) The same goes for bugs in a way. They become a lot less scary or annoying when you really study them. Such amazing creatures all around.
It started early for me. A little firey Aries girl in her rain boots, ready to conquer the fire ants. Fascinated by their scurry and team work, invincible it seemed, as what I thought I’d deconstructed would reappear the next day- stronger and deeper.
Congratulations on you most special Anniversary, Kim!! Quite an accomplishment on its own, but also so lovingly done and beautifully you! It seems fitting there was a flower moon in its honor!
Spring is finally springing here, the daffodils are blooming and the first bright green leaves are budding and unfurling on the trees!
Reading this made me feel hopeful and inspired in a quiet, achievable, whimsical way (does that make sense?) Definitely checking out that moon!

The way we were smitten by nature as kids. The very best memories.

Thanks Bridget! It does seem fitting under the Flower Moon! It has been so beautiful out this spring. I am enjoying it.
Morning dew glistening in the sun. Its magic🥰
That is a good one. I love when it clings to new blooms! The colors look amazing.
