Monday Moments
Don't miss the Harvest Moon tonight!
I wanted to remind you - tonight it’s the biggest and brightest moon of them all. You can read about the Harvest Moon in my last Nature Almanac for October.
I’ve been thinking a lot about all the seeds I’ve planted this year. All the work I’ve put in doing the art I love. And how hard I am sometimes on myself that I didn’t do it right. That part comes in when running your own art business. If I just had to do the art and fairy dust paid my bills, I would be the happiest magical creature you ever did meet. But life is the sweet and the salt. The art and the art business. You must always make room for the things you love and find a way to support your dreams.
You need to look back and appreciate all the beautiful things you did in life. All the things you made. All the dreams you indulge. All the time you carved out to be with your family and friends. It’s not the accomplishments we bask in for long; it is how we live each day. Take time to jot down all the things you are proud of this year. Feel THAT energy. Harvest it. Use that energy to fuel the life you want to live each day. After all, it is all about the tiny, magical things. And the people you love to spend your precious time with each day.
Have you ever heard of Creative Mornings? There are chapters all over the world. You can sign up for free. They have virtual and in-person field trips with fellow creatives.
This past weekend, I joined my first in-person field trip. I sat in a local park with a group of amazing women, and we shared a creative interest. It was quite magical. I always think of how many people there are in the world I am yet to meet. You know that feeling when you meet someone who sees the world a bit like you do? You are never too old to feel the excitement of making new friends.
So I encourage you to go out into the world this fall and meet new people. Maybe it is a quilt circle? Maybe a club for playing games? Whatever lights you up - it lights them up too. There is nothing better than finding your people to share a common interest.
I did it! I completed my second edition of the Looking for the Magic calendar! It is filled with all my favorite and most popular illustrations of 2026. It always feels like a year in review. I go through all my work and pick out the most meaningful to me. Thank you so much for following me here and supporting my art. I am offering a special discount code for my fellow Magic Seekers. Until Next Time ✨
