If I were able to experience someone else’s life for a day, what would I pick?

Maybe an astronaut. Being able to float weightless and look out over the universe in space would be the most magical thing I could imagine. Though, as a job, I’m not sure I have the patience for all that intricate science work.

Maybe a singer and songwriter? The way music can transform the way we feel in a moment and transport us is incredible.

Will I ever be an astronaut or a songwriter? No. I will not. It was never written in the stars for me. They were not dreams meant for me.

But sometimes we wholeheartedly think something is supposed to work out for us. And it does not.

I don’t always think it is easy to have clarity about these things. Sometimes we are taught from a young age what success means, and we don’t even give ourselves a chance to draw outside the lines.

For a long time, I thought I had failed. I had missed my chance. I chased my dreams, and it didn’t pan out. The money ran out, and I had to adult and pay the bills. That was my story. I just had to make the best of what I was doing in my career. It’s kind of sad when I type it out like that.

But the truth is, I had never “lost” anything. Other than my way. The road is always there. The things are always calling to you. But are you open to listening?
