It's the Tiny Things
A Weekly Delight & A Tiny Prints Giveaway ✨
My new weekly installment is called Tiny Things.
It was my word of the year – a reminder to myself that while I may dream big, it’s the tiny moments that fill my days. They guarantee me a bit of happiness.
Life is always a mix of the sweet and the salty. I’ve long been fascinated by how a single day can shift the course of a life. How nothing is promised, and how we should never take a lull in our lives for granted.
So what Tiny Thing delighted me this week?
On Sunday morning, I stopped by my favorite supermarket, Trader Joe’s. It was blissfully quiet – an easy parking lot (a miracle in itself).
If you go to Trader Joe’s, you know two truths: the parking lot will test your patience,
and the people who work the registers rival the kindness of a nurse.
This time, I was at a location I rarely visit. The guy checking me out was young, with a shaved head and tattoos curling across his neck and scalp.
He looked up and asked, “Did you do anything fun yesterday?”
In fact, I had – I’d gone to an art exhibit at our local botanical gardens. His face lit up. “I went there once,” he said. “I loved walking around and looking at all the flowers.”
His features softened as he remembered them. He told me he often wanders over to the flower section at Trader Joe’s to look at them each day. “They make me happy,” he said. Then he added quietly, “Sometimes I just like to look at beautiful things.”
That line hit.
We stood there on a sleepy Sunday morning, sharing how flowers make us feel. A small, profound exchange between two strangers surrounded by chocolate bars and mints.
Sometimes I think about the art I make and wonder – do I just like to make pretty things?
But I know it is much more than that. When I walk outside and find those intricate, colorful designs in nature, I feel hope. I feel that golden thread that connects us all – something universal and, too often, overlooked.
It’s free. It’s waiting right outside our doors.
Just like the moon.
All we have to do is slow down and take it in.
Until Next Time 🌙 ✨

To kick off Tiny Things, I’m gifting a Tiny Print to 5 subscribers. It is the art that sparked a lot of love this year and graces my yearly calendar. This one hits for many. I will snail mail it to you so you can put it right where you can see it everyday. All you have to do is put a Tiny Thing that brought you joy this week in the comments. I will randomly pick 5. Enter by Tuesday, November 11th, 2025. I will announce the winners in next week’s Tiny Thing post.
Some creative events are going on this month! I always try to carve out time to create. They have a low barrier to entry. I love to get some creative fuel and learn different techniques. Each artist always teaches me something new!

Tiny thing that brought me joy- watching the bluebird family that nested in my box over the summer, come feast on mealworms
My tiny thing was the loud sigh from my new rescue dog as she settled onto the couch next to me on the first night in her forever home.
